  189.  This option allows you to ADD files into
  190.  the compressed by displaying a list of

  192.  displayed you tag the files to ADD by

  198.  This option will allow you to add or
  199.  update the compressed file comments.

  202.  This option will delete all files that
  203.  are contained in the compressed file
  204.  from the current DISK:\DIRECTORY,or the
  205.  one specified via the ALT-P command.

  208.  This option allow you to specify which
  209.  files to extract from the compressed
  210.  file. You may specify more the one
  211.  filespec when the prompt appears.  Wild
  212.  cards are allowed.

  214. *altf    !!freshen-from-list!!
  215.  This option allows you to FRESHEN files
  216.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  217.  of files in a window.  After the window
  218.  is displayed you tag the files to
  219.  FRESHEN by pressing the space bar.
  220.  After all files have been tagged press
  221.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  222.  files.
  223.  
  224. *altg   !!search for string!!
  225.  This option allows you to search all ,or
  226.  only tagged files, for a specific string of
  227.  characters using the program FGREP.COM
  228.  (Which must be in a directory in your PATH
  229.  statement). If no files are tagged then all
  230.  files will be searched.  After the search is
  231.  completed to results will be listed on the
  232.  screen.

  234. *altm   !!move-from-list!!
  235.  This option allows you to MOVE files
  236.  into the compressed by displaying a list
  237.  of files in a window.  After the window
  238.  is displayed you tag the files to MOVE
  239.  by pressing the space bar.  After all
  240.  files have been tagged press the ENTER
  241.  key to process the tagged files.
  242.  
  243. *altn  !!extract newer!!
  244.  This option will extract ALL or TAGGED NEWER
  245.  files from the compressed file into the
  246.  current DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified
  247.  via the ALT-P command.
  248.  
  249. *altp  !!!get_extract_path!!!
  250.  This options allows you to specify a
  251.  disk and directory of where any
  252.  extracted files will be placed.  Specify
  253.  the extract path as follows:
  254.  DISK:\DIRECTORY Pressing any key other
  255.  than the ENTER key will clear the
  256.  extract path. To display a directory
  257.  window enter ONLY a DRIVE LETTER
  258.  FOLLOWED BY A COLON, then press the
  259.  enter key.
  260.  
  261. *alts   !!speed_srch!!
  262.  Speed search allows you to find a file
  263.  in the compressed file quickly.  After
  264.  the window pops up enter the first
  265.  character of the file you wish to find.
  266.  The display will be repositioned to the
  267.  first file in the list that starts with
  268.  that letter. (NOTE since files are
  269.  stored in random order sort the list
  270.  first)
  271.  
  272. *altt  !!toggle tagged display line!!
  273.  Pressing the ALT-T keys will toggle
  274.  the tagged file display line at the
  275.  bottom of the screen.
  276.  
  277. *altu    !!update-from-list!!
  278.  This option allows you to UPDATE files
  279.  in the compressed by displaying a list
  280.  of files in a window.  After the window
  281.  is displayed you tag the files to
  282.  UPDATE by pressing the space bar.
  283.  After all files have been tagged press
  284.  the ENTER key to process the tagged
  285.  files.
  286.  
  287. *altv  !!view archive comments!!
  288.  This option will display the master
  289.  comment record and the file comment
  290.  records for the selected compressed
  291.  file.
  292.  
  293. *altx  !!extract all!!
  294.  This option will extract ALL files from
  295.  the compressed file into the current
  296.  DISK:\DIRECTORY or the one specified via
  297.  the ALT-P command.
  298.  
  299. *alty   !!run pgm on tagged!!
  300.  This option allows run a program against
  301.  all tagged file(s).  You will be prompted
  302.  to enter the program name to run, the
  303.  parameters to pass to the program, if you
  304.  want SHEZ to swap itself out of memory when
  305.  running the program, and if you want SHEZ
  306.  to pause after each execution of your
  307.  program.
  308.  
  309. *altz  !!virus check!!
  310.  This option will check files to see if they
  311.  have been infected with a virus.  You must
  312.  have the virus checking program from McAfee
  313.  Assoc. call SCAN.EXE version 39 or greater,
  314.  and have used the configuration program to
  315.  tell SHEZ where to find SCAN.EXE.

  317.  IF FILES ARE TAGGED SHEZ WILL ONLY CHECK
  318.  THE TAGGED FILES FOR INFECTION.

  320. *alt1  !!authenticity toggle!!
  321.  This option will toggle the authenticity
  322.  option when using PKZIP version 1.1 or
  323.  greater.  If the authenticity mode is
  324.  toggled on a ! will appear next to the
  325.  [FILE LIST] window header on the main
  326.  screen or next to the NAME field on the
  327.  compressed file contents screen.
  328.  
  329. *c  !!create-new!!
  330.  This will allow you to create a NEW
  331.  compressed file.  You will be prompted
  332.  to enter the
  333.  DISK:\DIRECTORY\FILENAME.EXT of the
  334.  compressed file to create, whether you
  335.  want to add or move files into the new
  336.  compressed file, and the DISK:\DIRECTORY
  337.  of the files to add and/or move to the
  338.  new compressed file.
  339.  YOU MUST SUPPLY A FILE EXTENSION FOR THE
  340.  FILE TO BE CREATED.  SHEZ CURRENTLY WILL
  341.  ALLOW YOU TO CREATE ZIP,ARC,ZOO,LZH and
  342.  PAK files!!!!!
  343.  
  344.  You will also be asked if you want to
  345.  TAG files to be added/moved or process
  346.  the entered file spec as is.
  347.  
  348.  If the compression program you choose
  349.  supports saving path information you will
  350.  also be asked if you want to save
  351.  directory information, and if you want to
  352.  recurse the directory tree.
  353.  
  354.  
  355. *ctld  !!delete tagged!!
  356.  This option will delete all tagged files
  357.  from the compressed file.  You will be
  358.  asked to verify the delete before the
  359.  files are actually deleted from the
  360.  compressed file.
  361.  
  362. *ctle  !!extract tagged!!
  363.  This option will extract all tagged
  364.  files from the compressed file.
  365.  
  366. *ctlenter  !!alternate viewer!!
  367.  This option will activate the alternate
  368.  file viewer if one has been set via the
  369.  SHEZEV environment variable.  PLEASE SEE
  370.  THE USER MANUAL FOR INSTRUCTIONS ON
  371.  SETTING UP AN ALTERNATE VIEWER.
  372.  
  373. *ctlt  !!update compressed time and date!!
  374.  This option will set the compressed
  375.  file's time and date to the time and
  376.  date corresponding to the newest file in
  377.  the compressed file.
  378.  
  379. *ctlu  !!untag all!!
  380.  This option will untag all currently
  381.  tagged files.
  382.  
  383. *ctlsp  !!tag all files!!
  384.  This option will tag all files in the
  385.  currently displayed window.
  386.  
  387. *ctlv  !!convert sfx files!!
  388.  This option will convert a self
  389.  extracting file back to its native
  390.  compressed file format. The self
  391.  extracting file will remain untouched.
  392.  The normal compressed file will be
  393.  built on the same drive and directory
  394.  where self extracting file is found.
  395.  
  396. *ctly  !!copy members to another arc!!
  397.  This option allows you to copy all
  398.  tagged files from the current compressed
  399.  file into another compressed file.  The
  400.  target compressed file may be any
  401.  currently supported format.
  402.  
  403. *ctlx !!exit to extract dir!!
  404.  This option will exit SHEZ and will
  405.  drop you off into disk and directory
  406.  that is specified as the extract
  407.  location.
  408.  
  409. *d  !!delete one file!!
  410.  This option will delete the currently
  411.  highlighted file from the compressed
  412.  file. You will be asked to verify the
  413.  delete before the delete is actually
  414.  done.
  415.  
  416. *e  !!extract one file!!
  417.  This option will extract the currently
  418.  highlighted file onto the default disk
  419.  drive and directory, or the
  420.  DISK:\DIRECTORY that was specified via
  421.  the ALT-P command.
  422.  
  423. *f      !!freshen!!
  424.  Using this option you can specify the
  425.  file(s) you wish to FRESHEN in the
  426.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  427.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  428.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  429.  extensions.
  430.  
  431. *f10  !!to-dos!!
  432.  This option will temporarily exit to
  433.  DOS. You may then execute any DOS
  434.  command.  To return to SHEZ
  435.  enter EXIT at the DOS prompt and press
  436.  the return key.
  437.  
  438. *af10  !!to-dos to extract_path!!
  439.  This option will temporarily exit to
  440.  DOS and will drop you into the extract
  441.  directory. You may then execute any DOS
  442.  command.  To return to SHEZ enter EXIT
  443.  at the DOS prompt and press the return key.
  444.  
  445. *f2    !!switch_arc!!!
  446.  This option prompts for a new DRIVE:\PATH to
  447.  change to.  You may also specify a filename
  448.  and file extension if you wish. Wild cards
  449.  in the name and extension are allowed. IF
  450.  YOU ENTER A FILENAME OF $ AND A FILE
  451.  EXTENSION OF $ SHEZ WILL DISPLAY ONLY THE
  452.  ARCHIVE FILES THAT ARE FOUND IN THE
  453.  SPECIFIED DIRECTORY.
  454.  I.E. C:\WORK\$.$
  455.  You can also pop-up a directory tree window
  456.  by press the F9 key. When the tree appears
  457.  you may press the letters C-Z to obtain a
  458.  directory tree of a different drive. You may
  459.  also enter a DRIVE LETTER FOLLOWED BY A
  460.  COLON, before pressing the the F9 key.
  461.  
  462. *f8  !!edit!!
  463.  This option will allow you to edit a
  464.  file in the compressed file.  This
  465.  option will only work if you specified
  466.  an editor to use when you configured
  467.  compressedPER.
  468.  
  469. *f9    !!!get_sort!!!
  470.  Using this option you can specify how
  471.  you want the compressed files sorted on
  472.  the screen. They can be sorted by Name,
  473.  Extension, or Date.
  474.  
  475. *fact  !!!compression factor!!!
  476.  This option will allow you to set the
  477.  compression method used by the PKZIP or ARJ
  478.  programs.  When you set the compression
  479.  method, it will remain in effect until you
  480.  change it again.
  481.  
  482.  
  483. *g  !!password!!
  484.  This option allows you to specify the password
  485.  to be used by the compression program.  If the
  486.  compression program does not support passwords
  487.  an error window will appear informing you that
  488.  the option is not supported.
  489.  
  490. *i  !!show info!!
  491.  This option will show information about
  492.  the compressed file. I.E. Number of
  493.  files in file, total size of all files,
  494.  time and date of compressed file, etc.
  495.  
  496. *m     !!mode!!
  497.  Using this option you can specify the
  498.  file(s) you wish to MOVE into to the
  499.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  500.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  501.  cards are allowed for filenames and
  502.  extensions.
  503.  
  504. *o !!toggle overwrite!!
  505.  This option toggles overwrite mode. When
  506.  overwrite mode is active the letter "O"
  507.  will appear in the upper right corner of
  508.  the compressed display heading line.
  509.  When overwrite is active the uncompress
  510.  pgm will not ask you if you wish to
  511.  overwrite a pre-existing file when you
  512.  extract a file from the compressed file.
  513.  
  514. *p  !!path options!!
  515.  This option allows you to specify if you
  516.  want to save and/or use path information
  517.  when working with compressed files.
  518.  
  519. *q  !!immediate exit!!
  520.  This option will immediately exit
  521.  SHEZ.
  522.  
  523. *r  !!run a file!!
  524.  This option will extract and run the
  525.  highlighted EXE or COM file.  You will be
  526.  prompted to enter the optional command line
  527.  parameters that the program may need.  When
  528.  the program ends the extracted file will be
  529.  deleted.
  530.  
  531. *s  !!add/update file comments!!
  532.  This option allows you to add and or
  533.  update the comment records associated
  534.  with the currently highlighted file.
  535.  
  536. *sfts  !!add/update file comments!!
  537.  This option allows you to add and or
  538.  update the comment records assocaited
  539.  with each file in the compressed file.
  540.  
  541. *t  !!test compressed!!
  542.  This option will test the integrity of
  543.  the compressed file.
  544.  
  545. *u       !!update!!
  546.  Using this option you can specify the
  547.  file(s) you wish to UPDATE in the
  548.  compressed file. You may enter multiple
  549.  filespecs in the entry window.  Wild
  550.  cards are allowed for filenames and file
  551.  extensions.
  552.  
  553. *v  !!view!!
  554.  This option will allow you to view the
  555.  contents of a file in the compressed
  556.  file.  The LIST.COM program will be used
  557.  to view the file.
  558.  
  559. *z  !!mask!!
  560.  This option allows you to specify a file
  561.  mask to be used when displaying the
  562.  contents of a compressed file.  For
  563.  example if you specify a mask of *.C
  564.  only the files having an extension of C
  565.  will be displayed on the screen.
  566.  
  567. *maltd !!view 4dos!!
  568.  This option will display the 4DOS or
  569.  NDOS file descriptions that are
  570.  maintained by the DESCRIBE command.
  571.  SHEZ can only handle a description
  572.  file that is 30,000 bytes or less.
  573.  
  574. *mtab !!open second file window!!
  575.  When the DOS directory window is
  576.  displayed, pressing the TAB key will
  577.  open a secondary directory display
  578.  window.  You may view other directories
  579.  and/or drives while this window is
  580.  open.  Pressing the TAB key again is
  581.  the only way to close the secondary
  582.  display window.
  583.  
  584. *malte !!edit highlighted file!!
  585.  This option will invoke the editor that
  586.  you specified when you configured SHEZ.
  587.  The highlighted file will be passed to
  588.  the editor.
  589.  
  590. *mcf4 !!delete tagged files!!
  591.  This option will delete all files that
  592.  have been tagged in the file window.
  593.  After all the files are deleted the file
  594.  window will be refreshed.

  596. *mf3  !!view file!!
  597.  This option allows you to view the
  598.  highlighted file.
  599.  
  600. *mf4  !!delete file/dir!!
  601.  This option allows you to delete the
  602.  highlighted file/dir.  You will be
  603.  prompted to verify the delete.

  605. *mf5  !!file stats!!
  606.  This option will display the highlighted
  607.  file's time,date,and size.
  608.  
  609. *mf6  !!toggle $.$ *.*!!
  610.  This option will toggle the DOS files to
  611.  display between the $.$ specification
  612.  and the *.* specification.
  613.  
  614. *mf9  !!file sort!!
  615.  This option will sort the file list by
  616.  File name, File extension, or File date,
  617.  depending on how you reply to the sort
  618.  prompt. Enter a N, E, or D.
  619.  
  620. *mf8  !!make sfx files!!
  621.  F8 will make a self extracting file from
  622.  the highlighted file.
  623.  SHIFT-F8 will make self extracting files
  624.  from all tagged files.
  625.  (ONLY ZIP,LZH,PAK, and SDN files are
  626.  currently supported)

  628. *altb  !!browse a file!!
  629.  This option allows you to enter the name
  630.  of a file you wish to view.  The
  631.  user specified Browse program, that was
  632.  set during configuration, will be
  633.  use to Browse the specified file.
  634.  
  635. *malt-c  !!add/update file comments!!
  636.  This option allows you to add and or update
  637.  file comment records in all tagged
  638.  compressed files. You will be prompted for a
  639.  data file that contains the comment
  640.  record(s) you wish to add.
  641.  
  642. *malt-v  !!convert one file!!
  643.  This option will convert the highlighted
  644.  archive file from one format archive to
  645.  another format archive. You will be
  646.  asked if you want to delete the original
  647.  archive file after the conversion is
  648.  complete.
  649.  
  650. *mctl-v  !!convert tagged!!
  651.  This option will convert all tagged
  652.  archive file(s) from one format archive
  653.  to another format archive. You will be
  654.  asked if you want to delete the original
  655.  archive file(s) after the conversion is
  656.  complete.

  658. *malt-r  !!reread directory!!
  659.  This option will reread the current
